28mm Wide 700C Carbon Clincher Rim Brake Rims

The ORNANBIKE ORN728 Series features 700C carbon clincher rims designed for road bikes with rim brakes. With a 21mm internal width, 28mm external width, and U-shaped rim profile, the series offers a range of options for custom road wheel builds.

Manufactured using Toray T700 and T800 carbon fiber, these rims feature a double-wall construction with reinforcement around the spoke-hole areas.

Aero-technical design with U-shaped cross-section. carbon 700C rims 28mm wide outside and 21mm wide inside, with 33/38/44/50/55mm depth options. It can be used as both race carbon rims or daily driver's rims. The 28mm outer width keeps the aerodynamics optimized with smoother rolling for your 25c and 35c tires.

The tubeless compatibility of road bike 700C carbon rims improves rolling resistance, comfort and traction, and reduces the propensity for flat tires.

For rim-brake carbon rims, we have UD/Basalt/3K/3K twill/ Grooved 3K twill to choose from. With high TG and faster heat elimination.

Designed for bicycle brands and professional wheel builders, the ORN728 Series also supports OEM/ODM customization, including decal options and the evaluation of custom spoke-hole drilling configurations.

Technology Behind the ORN728 Clincher Carbon Rim Brake Series

1. High TG 255°C Brake Surface

The ORN728 Series features carbon brake-track options manufactured using a High TG resin temperature 255° brake track, solve the heating problem on the rim brake clincher bicycle wheels. 

Five brake-track finishes are available: UD, Basalt, 3K, 3K Twill, and Grooved 3K Twill.

The grooved option features a textured braking surface. Brake performance and heat management depend on brake pad compatibility, riding conditions, and the complete braking system.

2. Tubeless Compatible Technology

The ORN728 Series features a tubeless-ready clincher rim bed designed to accommodate suitable tubed and tubeless tire setups.

The rim bed incorporates bead-supporting features intended to assist with tire positioning during installation and inflation.

3. Ultra Smooth Inner Wall

Use specific, thinner, high-pressure air bladders to control the inner wall smoothness, The result is that we could see a very clean and smooth inner wall, which means the carbon fabrics are stretched smoothly and optimized. This could ensure the best strength of the fabrics.

4.Wide U-Shaped Rim Profile

With a 21mm internal width and 28mm external width, the ORN728 Series offers a wider rim platform than ORNANBIKE's 19mm internal-width road rim models. The U-shaped profile is developed for road wheel-building applications, with six depths available to suit different weight and rim-profile preferences.

5. Double Wall Design and Aero Technology

We use a double wall design to better control the rim strength and stiffness during layup. Rim profiles are specially designed with aero gains and drag reduction in mind.

6. CNC Spoke-Hole Drilling and Quality Control

Spoke holes are CNC-drilled according to the required drilling configuration and wheel-building geometry.

ORNANBIKE also uses product identification and inspection records to support manufacturing traceability and after-sales handling.

CARBON 700C RIM BRAKE WITH DIFFERENT BRAKING SURFACES

BRAKE SURFACE:

We have 5 different brake systems for professional cyclists to choose from. The high TG resin temperature of the 255° brake track solves the heating problem on the bicycle wheel of the rim brake. 

If you have special requirements for the brake system, Grooved 3K twill will be your best choice. 

The grooved track helps to evacuate trapped moisture between the brake pad and carbon rim under wet. it bears a higher temperature while braking, but for faster braking heat elimination. More friction, less lever force needed, and shorten about 30% braking distance. More friction to shorten the braking distance.
